This week starts the Adopt an Ephemeral Wetland project training! Six training events, held over the next month, will provide volunteers information about amphibian larvae identification and dipnetting techniques. Once trained, volunteers will select an ephemeral wetland within the Apalachicola National Forest to adopt and monitor over the course of the next year. Groups will visit their wetland at least 4 times a year, sample the amphibian population, and record water levels. Volunteers will have an opportunity to share their experiences and photos on this blog. Stay tuned for updates from the field!
