Illustration.  Have your students/child illustrate something they learned from their experience.  If desired, take a picture of or scan the illustration and email it to Rebecca ([email protected]).  We may display the picture on our website or Facebook page.

Pond Life Lesson Plan (SC.4.N.1.1, SC.4.L.17.4, SC.5.L.17.1, and SC.912.L.17.4) - This lesson plan from the CPALMS database is designed for students to investigate familiar and unfamiliar ecosystems using Internet resources, to explore how various organisms satisfy their needs within their environments, and to study the kinds of relationships that exist between organisms within an environment.

Biodiversity Lesson Plan (SC.4.L.17.4) - This 3-hour lesson plan from the CPALMS database involves students identifying and talking about biodiversity and what they know about the various habitats and life around them. Using online resources, they identify the basic components necessary for biodiversity, the critical and countless benefits of habitats, as well as the serious present and future threats to their ongoing existence.

Engineers Speak for the Trees Lesson Plan (SC.4.L.17.4, MACC.4.OA.1.2, MACC.4.OA.3.5) - During this 2.5 hour lesson plan from the CPALMS database, students begin by reading Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax” as an example of how overdevelopment can cause long-lasting environmental destruction. Students discuss how to balance the needs of the environment with the needs of human industry.
